Mission Statement
The primary mission of the Shorter Emergency Operations Center is to provide the most effective, efficient and respectful emergency services, in a coordinated effort to prepare for, respond to and recover from any natural or man-made crisis or disaster to save lives and minimize the loss of property, restoring the lives of our community to pre-disaster conditions.
The Shorter Emergency Operation Center is an adequately equipped facility that houses the Shorter Police Department, Shorter Volunteer Fire Department, Public Safety Communications Support Department, Shorter Municipal Court, and Town of Shorter Council Chambers.
Day-to-day operations are handled by our local officials and first responders; and, interagency coordination efforts such as continued communications, emergency power and water supply are sustained to ensure uninterrupted services and support for the Shorter Community during a disaster or emergency incident.

- Alabama Yellow Dot Program Registering Site
National Take Back Drug Initiative Program Drop-Off Site - Outdoor Warning Sirens (Testing: Every 3rd Thursday of each month, unless in inclement weather)
